CLINTON, N.Y. – The Hamilton College Continentals pushed hard for victory against Tufts University, but the Jumbos emerged with a 5-2 NESCAC win inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday, April 5.
Season Update
- The 38th-ranked Continentals (10-4, 1-4 NESCAC) played the first of what will eventually be six straight matches at home.
- Nationally ranked No. 2 Tufts (12-1, 4-0) won its sixth match in a row.
How It Happened
- Hamilton's No. 3 doubles pairing of Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 and Lleyton Mendieta '28 was able to secure a 6-4 victory over Derin Acaroglu and Lachie Macintosh. Ultimately the Jumbos claimed the doubles team point by winning the other two matches.
- There were multiple singles victories by the Continentals. Tarun Korwar '27 initially fell behind in his No. 3 singles match against Lachie Macintosh 3-6 in the first set, but Korwar bounced back with 6-3 and 6-4 decisions in the last two sets.
- Anson Anderson '26 was trailing 4-6 and 2-3 against Alex Ganchev at No. 4 singles, but at that point Ganchev retired from the match and handed the win to Anderson.
Notes
- Korwar posted his seventh consecutive singles win. He's 15-4 this season and 33-11 for his Hamilton career.
- Anderson improved to 13-8 and picked up his 36th career singles victory.
- Aadamsoo and Mendieta won their 10th straight doubles match. They are 16-7 as a team including 11-2 in dual matches.
