CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Keira Rogan '28 and
Dana Schwartz '26 set women's track and field team records in the non-team scoring, multi-divisional Hamilton Outdoor Invitational at Pritchard Track on Friday, April 4.
Rogan broke the facility record and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:27.88, which eclipsed the previous team record by nearly 36 seconds. Jen Cammarano '03 had held the old team record of 11:03.54 since 2002. Rogan's time is currently the second-fastest on the Division III performance list.
Schwartz broke her own record in the javelin throw for the second straight week and improved her AARTFC-qualifying distance with a throw of 37.65 meters (123 feet, 6 inches).
The Continentals qualified for the AARTFC meet in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.90 seconds.
Olivia Waruch '28, Tatiana McCray '28, Marley Meyers '28 and
Alexa Thomas '27 were the members of the relay.
Lily Murphy '27 (5,000-meter run) and
Sylvie Najarian '25 (steeplechase) improved their times after previously qualifying for the AARTFC championships in the same events.
Hamilton competes in the Utica University Pioneer Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
