No. 21 men's tennis ends regular season with sixth straight win

Continentals have reached 16 victories for the first time since the 1993-94 season

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Hamilton College Continentals swept the singles matches and emerged with a 6-1 NESCAC victory against the Connecticut College Camels inside Conn. College's Luce Field House on Saturday, April 26.
 

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 21 Hamilton (16-4, 6-4 NESCAC) extended its win streak to six matches.
  • The 52nd-ranked Camels (11-11, 1-9) lost for the sixth time in their last seven matches.
 

How it Happened

  • The Continentals did not snag the doubles point, but their No. 3 pairing of Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 and Lleyton Mendieta '28 secured a 6-4 victory against Krishh Tipnis and Sigmund Winiecki.
  • Hamilton was able to secure all six singles points, and only one of those matches went to a third set.
 

Notes

  • Connor Griff '25 tied the team record with his 76th career singles win. Griff, who rallied at No. 1 singles after he dropped the first set in a tiebreaker, is 21-9 overall this season.
  • Tarun Korwar '27 improved to 20-4 this season and 38-11 for his career with his triumph at No. 2 singles. Korwar is 8-2 against NESCAC opponents.
  • Anson Anderson '26 boosted his record to 18-8 and Aadamsoo moved to 18-9 after wins at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
  • Antonio Chavez '28 prevailed in No. 5 singles and evened his record against conference opponents at 4-4.
  • Charlie Sternberg '27 improved to 12-5 and defeated his first NESCAC opponent this season with his win at No. 6 singles.
  • Mendieta and Aadamsoo, who already hold the team record for wins in a season as a doubles pairing, are 14-4 in dual matches and 19-9 overall in 2024-25.
  • The Continentals have won the last four meetings with Conn. College.
  • Hamilton's 16 wins this season are tied with the 1993-94 team for the second-highest total in team history.

The Continentals play Bowdoin College in a NESCAC championship quarterfinal at Middlebury College on Friday, May 2 at 1 p.m.
