No. 22 men's tennis bested by Bowdoin in NESCAC championship quarters

Continentals were making their first postseason appearance

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Bowdoin College was perfect in five matches and the Polar Bears defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 4-0 in a 2025 NESCAC Men's Tennis Championship quarterfinal at Middlebury College Outdoor Tennis Courts on Friday afternoon, May 2.
 

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 22 Hamilton (16-5 overall) was the sixth seed for the championship. The Continentals had won their previous six matches.
  • No. 9 Bowdoin (14-3), which was the third seed for the event, won its fifth straight match.
 

How It Happened

  • The Polar Bears captured the team doubles point by winning at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles.
  • Bowdoin won all three singles matches in straight sets.
 

Notes

  • The match was played to decision. Once one team reaches four points, the match is over.
  • Hamilton was making its first championship appearance.
  • The Continentals defeated the Polar Bears 5-2 in Clinton on April 12.
