No. 34 men's tennis edges Colby for first time since 2019 by 4-3 decision

Chavez '28 clinched the victory for the Continentals with his win in the last singles match

CLINTON, N.Y. -- The NESCAC meeting between Hamilton College and Colby College came down to the final singles match and it was the Continentals who prevailed 4-3 at Hamilton's Tietje Family Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon, April 13.

Season Update

  • The 34th-ranked Continentals (14-4, 4-4 NESCAC) won their fourth straight match.
  • The Mules (6-7, 1-6) lost their fourth match in a row.

How it Happened

  • Colby earned the team doubles point, but Hamilton's No. 2 pairing of Anson Anderson '26 and Tarun Korwar '27 were able to pull out a 6-4 victory against Aidan Kwong and Marco Ziets-Segura.
  • The Continentals needed a strong performance in singles and they got it, winning four of the six matches and racking up four team points.
  • Antonio Chavez '28 clinched the match for Hamilton with his win at No. 6. Chavez trailed Josh Kaplan early in the dramatic first set but rallied to win in a tiebreaker before taking the second set, 6-4.
  • Anderson (No. 4), Korwar (No. 3) and Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 (No. 5) had a slightly easier time in their singles matches as all three also won in straight sets with no tiebreakers.

  • Anderson and Korwar have had a strong season with this being their 12th win as a pairing, and they improved to 9-5 in dual matches.
