ORLANDO, Fla. – The Hamilton College Continentals posted emphatic non-conference wins against St. Lawrence University and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as they continued their spring break trip in Florida on Thursday, March 20.
Season Update
- Nationally ranked No. 34 Hamilton (6-2 overall) has won all four of its Florida matches. The Continentals defeated St. Lawrence 6-1 and cruised to a 7-0 victory against UWEC.
- The Saints (8-5) had won five of their previous six matches.
- The Blugolds (3-6) dropped six of their last seven matches.
How It Happened
- Hamilton won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles and claimed the team doubles point against St. Lawrence.
- The Continentals captured five of the six singles matches. The only one Hamilton didn't win went to a third set super-tiebreaker.
- The Continentals recorded straight-set victories in all six singles matches against UWEC. The closest doubles match was at No. 1, which was decided by a score of 7-5.
Notes
- Lleyton Mendieta '28 won both of his singles and doubles matches for the second day in a row. Mendieta has moved into the No. 1 singles role and is 6-2 in dual matches.
- Eerik Villem Aadamsoo '28 was Mendieta's doubles partner and was victorious at his No. 4 singles matches. Aadamsoo is third on the team with 10 singles and 11 doubles wins.
- Tarun Korwar '27 improved his record to 12-4 this season and 30-11 for his career with two triumphs at No. 3 singles. Korwar also teamed up with Anson Anderson '26 for a win at No. 1 doubles.
- Anderson is third on the team's all-time list with 42 doubles victories.
- Antonio Chavez '28 won both of his doubles matches and at No. 5 singles against St. Lawrence. Chavez is a team-best 17-6 in doubles this season and improved to 7-1 in dual matches.
- Connor Griff '25 was Chavez's doubles partner against UWEC and picked up the win at No. 2 singles. Griff moved into first place on the team's all-time list with his 46th career doubles victory. He also collected his 70th career singles win.
- Charlie Sternberg '27 was a winner in singles and doubles against St. Lawrence. Sternberg has an 8-5 singles record and a 9-5 doubles mark this season.
- Coby Feldman '26 is 9-6 and Nicolas Gritz '25 is 7-4 after they prevailed in singles action against UWEC.
