Women's hockey season wraps up in NESCAC championship semifinals

Bullock '26 scored a goal for the Continentals in their 3-1 loss at Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Amherst College's Maeve Reynolds had a goal and an assist in the third period and the Mammoths defeated the Hamilton College Continentals 3-1 in a 2025 NESCAC Women's Hockey Championship semifinal played inside Amherst's Orr Rink on Saturday afternoon, March 8.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (12-12-2 overall) was playing in the semifinals for the sixth straight season and had reached the final the last two years. The Continentals were the fifth seed for the championship. Hamilton was receiving votes in the USCHO.com Division III Women's Hockey Top 15 poll.
  • The sixth-ranked Mammoths (20-5-1) were the No. 1 seed for the championship. Amherst extended its win streak to six games.
 

How It Happened

  • Lydia Bullock '26 scored 11 seconds into a power play and 9:42 into the second period for a 1-0 Continentals lead. Abby Weiss '25 picked up the assist.
  • Ayla Abban tied the score with 1:21 left in the second.
  • Reynolds scored the go-ahead goal on a power play at 4:16 of the third period.
  • Marie-Eve Marleau added an insurance tally with 7:32 remaining.
  • Hamilton pulled its goaltender for a sixth skater with about two minutes left, and then went on a power play with 1:52 remaining for a 6-on-4 advantage. The Continentals had seven shot attempts, including three on goal, the rest of the way.

  • Bullock is second on the team with six goals and 13 points.
  • Weiss finished her Hamilton career with nine goals and six assists for 15 points.
  • Grace Puskar '27 won 8-of-15 faceoffs.
  • Evie Sheridan '26 made a career-high 36 saves.
  • Reynolds added three blocked shots.
  • Natalie Stott stopped 19 shots for the Mammoths.
  • Amherst won 35-of-53 faceoffs.
  • Both teams were 1-for-3 on the power play.
  • The Continentals' last win against the Mammoths was in the 2024 NESCAC semifinals.
