CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's
Jackson Krock '26 scored two goals and the Continentals cruised to a 5-2 win against the Connecticut College Camels in a 2025 NESCAC Men's Hockey Championship quarterfinal played inside Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon, March 1.
Season Update
- The 11th-ranked Continentals (18-6-1 overall) are the No. 1 seed for the championship. Hamilton hosts the semifinals on Saturday, March 8 and the final on Sunday, March 9. It will be the second time the Continentals are at Sage Rink for championship weekend (2017).
- Conn. College (9-14-2) scored more than two goals just once in its last eight games.
How It Happened
- John Wojciechowski '28 gave Hamilton a 1-0 lead with 4:02 left in the first period. Ben Zimmerman '26 passed the puck from below the goal line to the defenseman, who had drifted into the left faceoff circle from the blue line. Wojciechowski hammered a low one-timer into the back of the net.
- Krock's first goal made it 2-0 just 69 seconds later. He picked up a loose puck in the center of the right faceoff circle and skated towards the goal line. Krock sent a backhander towards the net and it appeared to deflect off the back of the goaltender across the goal line.
- Krock gave the Continentals a three-goal cushion with a fantastic individual effort 8:35 into the second period. He collected the puck deep in Hamilton's defensive zone and skated along the right-side boards into the attacking zone. He cut across the right faceoff circle into the low slot, got the goaltender to commit, and tapped the puck inside the left post.
- Logan Cleary put the Camels on the scoreboard with 1:24 remaining in the second.
- Justin Biraben '27 restored the Continentals' three-goal advantage 22 seconds later. Noah Leibl '27 received a pass at center ice and made a great move around a defender in the right faceoff circle. Leibl passed across the slot to Biraben and he stuffed the puck past the goaltender from close range.
- A power-play goal by Will Winship pulled Conn. College within 4-2 with 5:53 to go in the third period.
- Leibl clinched the victory with 40.8 seconds left. The Camels pulled their goaltender for a sixth skater with 2:30 remaining to put the pressure on Hamilton. After two Conn. College shot attempts, Leibl stole the puck at the red line and skated in all alone for the empty-net goal.
