Men’s basketball clips Conn. College in NESCAC quarterfinal for 20th win

No. 4 seed Hamilton advances to the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday, March 1

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Teja Singh '25 dropped in 24 points and the Continentals outlasted the Connecticut College Camels 70-61 in a 2025 NESCAC Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinal on Coach Tom Murphy Court inside Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22.

How It Happened

  • After trailing 7-2, the Continentals went on an impressive 14-0 run and took a 16-7 lead with 8:48 remaining in the first half. The rally was ignited by Singh, who scored the first five points with a three-pointer and a layup. Graham Robinson '25 added a layup, followed by back-to-back baskets by Jalen Reese '27 and Singh. Matthew Rideout '27 capped the scoring burst with a long-range basket.
  • Garret Keyhani '26 scored six consecutive points, highlighted by a dunk while drawing a defender, and extended the lead to 24-12 with 4:44 remaining.
  • Conn. College trimmed its deficit back down to single digits, but Robinson answered with two free throws and pushed the lead to 30-19 as the first half came to a close.
  • The Camels went on a 7-0 run and cut their deficit to 41-36 with 13:30 remaining in the second half. They narrowed the Continentals' lead to just four at 45-41 with 11:27 to play.
  • Hamilton answered with eight straight points and rebuilt its lead to 12 points at 53-41 with 9:12 left. Hank Morgan '25 connected on a three, Robinson followed with a jumper, and Singh -- feeling the home court energy -- nailed a long-range shot.
  • Conn. College cut the Continentals' lead in half with a 9-3 spurt and closed its gap to 56-50 with 4:07 left.
  • The Camels tried to get back into it by sending the Continentals to the free-throw line, but Hamilton went 12-for-14 in the final 2:04, and Conn. College didn't get within two possessions again.
