Field hockey hosts Geneseo in 2025 NCAA first round game on Nov. 12

Continentals received an at-large bid after they posted an 11-5 overall record

The Hamilton College Continentals host the SUNY Geneseo Knights in a 2025 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship first round game at Goodfriend Field on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m.
 
Hamilton, which is hosting an NCAA field hockey championship event for the first time, received an at-large bid to this year's tournament. The Continentals' only other championship appearance was in 2009. Hamilton is ranked 11th in the Division III coaches poll and 10th in the NCAA Power Index (NPI). The Continentals are 11-5 overall and went 6-4 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
 
Geneseo is in the NCAA championship for the second straight year and the fifth time overall. The Knights earned an automatic bid for winning the Empire 8 Athletic Conference tournament title. Geneseo is ranked 22nd in the coaches poll and 27th in the NPI. The Knights, who are riding a 16-game win streak, are 20-1 overall and had a perfect 10-0 record in the Empire 8.
 
The winner plays either Wesleyan University or Marywood University in the second round at Babson College in Babson Park, Mass., on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
