UTICA, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Luke Tchor '27 posted two goals and an assist and Tyler Bloomfield '28 made 19 saves in the Continentals' 6-0 win against the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs at the 2025 Utica University Thanksgiving Showcase inside Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 28.

Season Update

  • Nationally ranked No. 8 Hamilton (5-0-0 overall) has outscored its first five opponents 26-7.
  • Morrisville (2-4-2), which is 1-1-2 in the SUNYAC, lost its second straight game.

How It Happened

  • The Continentals dominated the first period with a 20-4 shot advantage and 14 faceoff wins against six losses.
  • Hamilton grabbed a 1-0 lead 7:48 into the first. John Wojciechowski '28 passed the puck from the bottom of the left faceoff circle to Vincent Gould '27 in the low slot where Gould redirected it into the back of the net.
  • Tchor gave the Continentals a two-goal advantage with 6:31 left in the period. Wojciechowski rushed the puck into the offensive zone and made an aggressive move towards the goal. He was pushed through the crease and lost the puck, but Tchor chipped it in from near the left post.
  • Brendan Waivada '27 made it 3-0 at 5:12 of the second period. Jacob Ierfino '27 forced a turnover by the Mustangs in their defensive zone and Waivada picked up the loose puck in the left corner. He skated behind the net and scored on a wraparound.
  • Tchor scored again just seven seconds later. After another Morrisville turnover in its defensive zone, Tchor controlled the puck and skated into the slot where he scored on a backhander.
  • Devon de Vries '27 pushed the lead to 5-0 with 7:17 left in the second. Tchor sent a pass from between the boards and the left faceoff circle to de Vries for a redirect at the top of the crease.
  • Ierfino completed the scoring 6:21 into the third period. Noah Leibl '27 forced a turnover near the blue line in the Mustangs' defensive zone and Ryan Sordillo '27 passed the puck to Ierfino in the right faceoff circle. He skated in 1-on-1 with the goaltender and deposited a backhand shot into the back of the net from close range.
