Field hockey travels to Bates for NESCAC championship quarterfinal Nov. 1

Sixth-seeded Continentals defeated the Bobcats 2-1 in Maine in early October

The Hamilton College Continentals travel to Lewiston, Maine, to play the Bates College Bobcats in a 2025 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Field Hockey Championship quarterfinal at Campus Avenue Field on Saturday, Nov. 1 at noon.

Hamilton (11-4 overall) tied for fifth place in the NESCAC standings with a 6-4 record and is the sixth seed for the championship. The Continentals won 2-1 at Bates on a goal by Brighton McMahon '29 with 2:12 left in the fourth quarter on Oct. 5. Hamilton is ranked ninth in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll and 10th in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) as of Oct. 28. The Continentals are 6-2 away from home.
 
The Bobcats (12-3 overall) tied for second place in the NESCAC standings with a 7-3 record and are the third seed for the championship. Bates was the conference runner-up in 2024. The Bobcats are ranked sixth in the coaches poll and seventh in the NPI as of Oct. 28. Bates has a 7-1 record at home with the lone loss coming against Hamilton.
