Squash teams tripped up at Colby on second day of Maine road trip

Sun '28 prevailed in her match on the women's side for the Continentals

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Hamilton College lost its men's and women's squash matches against Colby College inside Colby Squash Center at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center on Thursday night, Jan. 16.

The Hamilton women, who are 28th in the College Squash Association varsity team rankings, dropped an 8-1 decision against No. 17 Colby. On the men's side, the 19th-ranked Mules posted a 9-0 win against the 25th-ranked Continentals.

Karis Sun '28 earned the team point for the Hamilton women. Sun outlasted her opponent 14-12 in the first game at the third position but dropped the second game. She recovered and claimed the next two games in convincing fashion. Sun improved her record to 3-2 overall and 2-2 against NESCAC opponents.

The Continentals play at Bowdoin College on Friday, Jan. 17 as both matches start at 11 a.m.
