Cross country races canceled due to heat at Lehigh's Paul Short Run

By Friday afternoon temperatures had soared above 80 degrees with humid conditions

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Hamilton College cross country teams did not compete in Lehigh University's 52nd Paul Short Run after elevated heat conditions and rapidly rising temperatures forced the cancellation of the final six races on Friday afternoon, Oct. 2.

By early afternoon temperatures had climbed into the low 80s with humid conditions. The decision was made following consultation between on-site medical personnel and Lehigh Athletics administrators to prioritize the safety and well-being of all student-athletes and participants.

The Continentals host their own invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10. The women's race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men at 11:45.
