WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Williams College's Owen McHugh threw for 247 yards and five touchdowns in the Ephs' 42-7 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Williams' Farley-Lamb Field on Saturday, Sept. 14.

Saturday afternoon's game was the 2024 opener for both teams.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first quarter, the Ephs exploded for 28 points in the second quarter.
- Mario Fischetti scored on a five-yard run just five seconds into the quarter. McHugh found Owen Johansen for a two-yard touchdown pass 3:16 later, and hooked up with Sam Jaffe for an 18-yard scoring toss with 4:22 left. Brady Stahelski rounded out the quarter with a 40-yard touchdown reception with 1:43 remaining.
- McHugh and Johansen connected again for a 25-yard touchdown with 7:19 to go in the third quarter. An Ivan Shuran PAT made it 35-0.
- Hamilton avoided the shutout with 5:30 left in the third when Chester Boynton '27 scored on a 12-yard reception from Luke Kurzum '27.
- The final touchdown was a 41-yard touchdown pass from McHugh to Jack Kennedy with 2:15 remaining in the quarter.
Notes
- Kurzum was 9 of 20 for 91 yards and was the Continentals' leading rusher with a career-high 72 yards on 11 carries.
- Boynton, who caught just two passes last year, finished with six receptions for 83 yards. The touchdown was his first at Hamilton.
- Nick Hoff '25 topped the Continentals with nine tackles including seven solo stops.
- Tighe Hoey '25 averaged 43.7 yards on 10 punts including two that traveled 50-plus yards.
- McHugh was 17 of 25 passing, and Stahelski caught four balls for 70 yards.
- Williams posted 459 yards of total offense and averaged 6.7 yards per play.
- Hamilton finished with 202 yards and the Continentals were 2 of 13 on third down conversions.
Next Game
The Continentals host Amherst College on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. for Family Weekend. The Mammoths defeated Bates College 19-7 on Sept. 14.
