Suspended NESCAC women's tennis match moved to Hamilton

Continentals will finish their match with Bates on Monday, April 29

LEWISTON, Maine -- Inclement weather forced the suspension of Hamilton College's NESCAC men's and women's tennis matches at Bates College on Sunday, April 28, and resulted in the women's match moving to Hamilton's campus where it will be played on Monday, April 29.

Monday's match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and will be held outdoors at Tietje Family Tennis Center. Once one team gets to five team points, the match will end.

All three doubles matches started on Sunday but only one finished so far. The Continentals won the first flight match and will need four more team points to clinch the victory.

If the Continentals win they will qualify for the NESCAC championship as the eighth and final seed with a 3-7 conference record. If Bates wins there will be a three-way tie for eighth place between Hamilton, Trinity College and the Bobcats, and the eighth seed would be decided by tiebreaker procedures.

The men's match was stopped before any of the three doubles matches were completed. The match has been cancelled and declared "no contest" by the conference office.
