CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College swept the three doubles matches and the Continentals posted a 6-3 non-conference win against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute inside Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Friday, March 22.
The Continentals (2-2 overall) are 30
th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Collegiate Tennis Rankings for Division III. Hamilton hosts Trinity College (3-2) for a NESCAC match on Sunday, March 24 at noon.
Priyanka Challapalli '27 and
Grace Qian '27 won their singles and doubles matches for the Continentals.
Qian clinched the victory for Hamilton by closing out her fourth flight singles match in a second set tiebreaker. She also teamed up with
Ally Turtledove '25 for a win at third flight doubles in another tiebreaker.
Challapalli outlasted her opponent in three sets, including a third set super-tiebreaker, at third flight singles. She paired with
Hannah Walpole '26 for the first time since the fall season for the triumph at second flight doubles. They have a team-best five wins as a doubles team.
Shannon Cicero '25 was a winner in straight sets at sixth flight singles. It was Cicero's first singles victory this season.
Hannah Apsey '25 and
Stephanie Pratt '25 cruised to the win at first flight doubles. Apsey has a career 32-18 doubles record and is 3-1 this spring.
