ORLANDO, Fla. – The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Washington (Md.) College and Hampden-Sydney College by identical 7-2 scores at Fort Gatlin Recreation Complex and Lake Cane Tennis Center, respectively, on Thursday, March 14.
Hamilton (4-2 overall) has won three straight matches. The Continentals face Hobart College, which is 34
th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Collegiate Tennis Rankings, on Saturday, March 16 at noon. The teams play at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
Charlie Sternberg '27 and
Ignatio Tran '27 were a perfect 3-0 on the day in singles and doubles. The duo teamed up for two wins at third flight doubles as they improved to 11-3 as a pairing. Sternberg was a winner in straight sets at sixth flight singles against Washington, and Tran rallied past his Hampden-Sydney opponent in three sets at fifth flight singles.
Neal Gupta '26 posted singles victories against both teams.
Pius Lo '24 evened his career singles record at 5-5 with a three-set win at sixth flight against Hampden-Sydney.
Anson Anderson '26 and
Tarun Korwar '27 won three out of four matches between singles and doubles play. They defeated their Hampden-Sydney opponents at first flight doubles as Anderson moved his doubles record to 13-5. Anderson won both of his singles matches and has 10 victories this season. Korwar captured both singles matches and is second on the team with an 11-3 record.
Connor Griff '25 is now 17-1 in singles after a three-set thriller against Washington. Griff took his first flight match by winning the third set super-tiebreaker 11-9. Griff and
Gianni Esposito '24, who had never teamed up before in doubles, picked up a win at second flight against Washington.
