Robinson '25 made a career-high nine saves for her first career shutout for the Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Clare Robinson '25 made a career-high nine saves and the Continentals played the Williams College Ephs to a 0-0 NESCAC tie on a hot and humid Tuesday afternoon at Hamilton's Love Field.

Season Update

  • Williams, which is ranked 12th in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 Preseason poll, was also playing its first game this season.

How It Happened

  • Hamilton tried to take the lead with some sustained pressure that started in the 53rd minute. Olivia Zubarik '25 started it with a hard shot that Ana Bozzi-Mackay was forced to tip over the crossbar.
  • Shortly after the Continentals' corner kick, Erin Rayhill '25 took a shot that was headed for the lower-right corner, but Bozzi-Mackay stopped it again.
  • Hamilton took another corner kick about a minute later and that led to a shot by Tori Morelli '24 that Bozzi-Mackay turned away. Rayhill followed with another shot a few seconds later.
  • In the 59th minute the Ephs took two shots within seconds of each other, the second of which was controlled by Robinson. Williams had two more shots in the 76th minute that were not on goal.
  • The Ephs' Blakeley Buckingham bounced a shot in the 90th minute and Robinson dove to her left and made the save to preserve the scoreless tie.
