No. 6 women's hockey breaks team record with 17th win this season

Mosher '23 had a goal and an assist in Continentals' 2-1 victory at Conn. College

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Hamilton College's Hyla Mosher '23 figured in both goals and the Continentals pulled out a 2-1 NESCAC win against the Connecticut College Camels at Conn. College's Dayton Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
Season Update
Nationally ranked No. 6 Hamilton (17-3-2, 11-2-1 NESCAC) set the team record for wins in a season as the Continentals swept the weekend series against the ranked Camels. Hamilton is unbeaten in its last nine games. No. 15 Conn. College (12-9-1, 6-7-1) lost 3-1 against the Continentals on Friday.
 
How It Happened
  • Nancy Loh '23 scored the game-winner with 8:14 left in the third period right after Mosher won a faceoff.
  • Evie Sheridan '26 made five saves for Hamilton in the last five minutes. The Camels pulled their goaltender for an extra skater with 2:17 remaining but didn't get the equalizer.
  • The Continentals had two players go to the penalty box within 55 seconds midway through the first period.
  • Conn. College took advantage of its 5-on-3 power play by scoring with 6:58 to go. After a shot by Kylie McCarthy missed the net, Melanie Conca tallied her 14th goal. Caroline O'Keefe also picked up an assist as the Camels took a 1-0 lead.
  • Hamilton put five shots on net during a power play that started late in the first period and ended early in the second, but didn't score.
  • The Camels received their third power play with 1:26 left in the second period, but it turned out to be a break for the Continentals.
  • Sheridan stopped three shots before Hamilton got its chance. Maura Holden '23 took a shot that was saved by Abby Wieczorek and Mosher pounced on the rebound for a short-handed goal that tied the score with 12 seconds remaining.
 
Notes
  • Sheridan finished with 19 saves. She has a 1.21 goals against average and .950 save percentage in 14 starts.
  • Loh is fifth on the team's all-time list with 51 career goals. She leads the conference with 16 goals and is tied for fifth with 20 points.
  • Mosher, who has 17 points this season on seven goals and 10 assists, has three multi-point games in the last five.
  • Holden collected her sixth point this season.
  • Abby Kuhns '23 blocked three shots.
  • Bobbi Roca '24 registered 11 of the Continentals' 26 faceoff wins.
  • Wieczorek made 12 of her 23 saves in the first period.
  • Conn. College was 1-for-3 on the power play while Hamilton was 0-for-2.
  • The Continentals have allowed more than one goal just once in their last 13 games.
 
Next Game
Hamilton hosts Middlebury College (14-5-3, 9-3-2) on Friday, Feb. 17 for the start of a big NESCAC weekend series at 7 p.m.
