Men's hockey tripped up in NESCAC action at Trinity, 4-1

Bulawka '26 scored and won 9 of 12 faceoffs for the Continentals

HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College's Richard Boysen scored two goals and the Bantams recorded a 4-1 NESCAC win against the Hamilton College Continentals inside Trinity's Koeppel Community Sports Center on Friday, Dec. 1.
 

Season Update

  • Hamilton (4-1, 1-1 NESCAC) suffered its first loss after starting the season with four straight wins.
  • The Bantams (5-1, 3-0) have allowed one goal against four of their six opponents.
  • Both teams are receiving votes in this week's USCHO.com Division III Top 15 poll.
 

How It Happened

  • James Barbour gave Trinity a 1-0 lead with 7:00 left in the first period right after his shot was blocked by the Continentals' Noah Leibl '27.
  • The Bantams went up by two goals just six seconds into a power play on Boysen's first goal of the night 8:56 into the second period.
  • Max Bulawka '26 cut Hamilton's deficit in half on a power-play goal with 7:04 remaining in the second. Luke Tchor '27 picked up the assist.
  • Boysen restored Trinity's two-goal lead 1:45 later with his second goal and fourth this season.
  • The Continentals almost pulled within a goal again during a power play early in the third period when a shot by Carson Hall '26 hit the post.
  • Gerard Maretta clinched it for the Bantams on an empty-net goal with 2:44 to go in the third.

  • Bulawka scored his ninth career goal at Hamilton and won 9 of 12 faceoffs.
  • Tchor leads the team with six points.
  • Charlie Archer '25 made 34 saves for the Continentals.
  • Devan Tongue collected two assists and Devon Bobak turned away 22 shots for Trinity.
  • Hamilton was 1-for-6 on the power play while the Bantams were 1-for-5 with the extra skater.
  • Trinity recorded its first win against the Continentals since the 2020 NESCAC championship.
  • The Bantams held a 38-23 shot advantage.
