No. 13 women's hockey blanks No. 6 Colby for second straight day

Loh '23 scored two more goals and Sheridan '26 extended scoreless streak to 150 minutes

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College's Nancy Loh '23 scored two goals and Evie Sheridan '26 was excellent in goal again as the Continentals posted a 3-0 NESCAC win against the Colby College Mules at Hamilton's Russell Sage Rink on Saturday afternoon.
 
Season Update
The nationally ranked No. 13 Continentals (9-2-0, 5-1 NESCAC) extended their win streak to seven games with their second shutout in as many days against Colby. The sixth-ranked Mules dropped to 8-2-0 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
 
How It Happened
  • Abby Kuhns '23 gave Hamilton all the offense it would need at 9:44 of the first period when she scored a power-play goal on a blast from the point.
  • Loh made it 2-0 just 62 seconds into the second period. She deposited the rebound in the back of the net after shots by her and Claire McGennis '24 were stopped by Mandy Busky.
  • Colby received its lone power play of the day 34 seconds later but managed only two shots on goal.
  • Loh clinched the win on an empty-net goal with 2:22 left in the third period.
 
Notes
  • Sheridan made a season-high 34 saves before she left with an injury with 3:18 remaining in the third period. She hasn't allowed a goal in a little more than 150 minutes.
  • Cate Gallagher '26 replaced Sheridan and stopped two shots.
  • Loh has scored a goal in five straight games and leads the team with seven.
  • Kuhns, who had a goal and an assist, leads the Continentals with nine points.
  • McGennis finished with two assists and is tied for the team lead with six. She has registered a point in four of the last five contests.
  • Bobbi Roca '24 was credited with her sixth assist and won 14 of 22 faceoffs.
  • Busky turned away 26 shots for the Mules.
  • Hamilton finished 1-for-3 on the power play.
  • The Continentals have surrendered one power-play goal this season.
  • Hamilton's last five wins have all come against ranked teams.
 
Next Game
The Continentals host Nazareth College (11-2-0 overall) for a non-conference game at Sage Rink on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 3 p.m.
