Hamilton College guard Conner Rood '23 (Austin, Texas/Regents School of Austin) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 30.

Rood averaged 16.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in three wins. He started the week with 13 points, nine boards, six assists and two steals in a 67-57 non-conference victory at SUNY Polytechnic on Jan. 24. He went 17-for-17 at the free-throw line and finished with 21 points in an 80-75 NESCAC win against Trinity College on Jan. 27. Rood tied a career high with 12 rebounds for his second double-double this season and handed out six assists. He contributed 15 points, nine boards and three assists in an 87-86 conference triumph against Wesleyan University on Jan. 28.

Rood is 20th in the NESCAC with 12.0 points per game this season. He is also seventh with 6.6 rebounds per contest, 10th in field goal percentage (46.7 percent), ninth in free throw percentage (73.5) and fifth with 3.3 assists per game.

Rood and the Continentals (14-7, 5-2 NESCAC) play at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House for the last time this regular season on Sunday, Feb. 5 when they host Connecticut College for another conference contest at 2 p.m. Hamilton has won its last four games.
