Hamilton College placed two athletes in the top eight of the men's 5,000-meter run in the 2022 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships held at Moravian University's Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem, Pa., on May 18 and 19.

Andrew Harrell '23 finished fourth with a time of 14:53.29 in the 5,000 meters and
Nick Lyon '22 was eighth in 15:12.28 on Wednesday. Harrell was leading the race after the completion of four different laps including as late as 3,000 meters when he had a time of 8:56.39. His fastest split time of 1:08.12 came on the final lap but he remained in fourth position. Â

Lyon moved up six places to sixth after 1,400 meters with a 1:09.73 split on his third full lap. He was still sixth after 4,200 meters with a time of 12:45.61 but dropped to eighth place after the next lap, and a 1:09.16 split on the final lap didn't improve his position.

Josh Harmsen '23 ended up 22
nd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.05 seconds in Wednesday's time trials.
James Ball '22 was 16
th in the javelin throw with a distance of 50.01 meters (164 feet, 1 inch) on Wednesday, and
Saleh Eltayeb '24 landed in 13
th place in the long jump with a leap of 6.74 meters (22 feet, 1.5 inches) on Thursday. Eltayeb fouled on his first two attempts before he unleashed his personal-best jump on the third and final try.
