The Hamilton College Continentals were swept by the Williams College Ephs in a NESCAC West Division doubleheader played at Williams' Cole Field on Saturday afternoon.

In similar fashion to Friday's series opener, the Ephs (23-13, 7-5 NESCAC West) came from behind for a 10-9 win in eight innings in Game 1, and then posted a 9-1 victory in Game 2. The second game was stopped in the bottom of the fifth due to the eight-run mercy rule.

Hamilton (16-14, 2-10) led 7-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning in Saturday's opener. The Continentals, who were playing their final games of the season, also scored first in the nightcap.

Game 1

The Continentals racked up 10 hits as
Charlie Quinn '25 forged the way with two singles and a three-run homer. Quinn led Hamilton with four runs batted in.
Kiana Arcayena '22 and
Ella Heftved '25 tallied two hits apiece, and
Samantha Smith '23, Shelby McVey '22 and
Vicky Dunn '22 collected one each.

The Ephs forced extra innings with three runs in the seventh. Hamilton went ahead again with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth, but Williams finished off the comeback with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning.

Hamilton found the scoreboard first with a three-run inning in the top of the second. Heftved led off with a double to center but was thrown out trying to advance to third on a wild pitch. McVey and Smith drew walks, and Quinn roped a two-out homer over the left field fence.

Williams plated a run in the bottom half of the inning. Kelly McGuigan started the offense with a single to left and moved into scoring position on a passed ball. Kayla Chang drove McGuigan home with a single to the gap in left center.

The Continentals added a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by
Alessandra Priante '24 that plated Quinn. The Ephs responded with two runs and trailed 4-3 after four.

Hamilton extended the lead with two runs in the fifth as Arcayena scored on a passed ball and Smith drove in Heftved with a sacrifice fly. Both sides scored a run in the sixth, and the Continentals entered the final inning with a 7-4 advantage.

Elyse Chan pitched one inning in relief and collected her ninth win on the rubber.Â

Hamilton tallied five hits and committed four errors.
Emma Tansky '25 registered two singles and Arcayena, Heftved and
Madison Hinojos '24 had one hit each. The Continentals scored their run in the first inning on a Heftved single to center that plated Tanksy, who tied the program record for stolen bases in a season in this game with her 17th.

Williams did some damage in the bottom half with four runs on four hits to take the lead. The Ephs plated two more in the second, one in the fourth, and two in the fifth.
