Hamilton College's
Natalie Beebe '24 picked up the win in Game 2 and earned the save in Game 1 as the Continentals swept a non-conference doubleheader against the Utica University Pioneers at Hamilton's Loop Road Athletic Complex on Wednesday.

The Continentals (16-11 overall) won the opener 8-2 and edged Utica 7-6 in the nightcap. Hamilton banged out 25 hits in the two games.

The Pioneers (12-24) are 11-5 against the Continentals since 2013. Utica never held the lead in either game of this twinbill.

Game 1
Â
Hamilton had 17 hits and scored in every inning except the fourth. The Pioneers scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Beebe went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in and
Samantha Smith '23 doubled twice and singled.
Emma Tansky '25 finished with three hits and
Kiana Arcayena '22, Ella Heftved '25, Alessandra Priante '24 and
Charlie Quinn '25 chipped in two each.

Teagan Graham '25 (2-3) allowed one run on six hits in four innings and collected her second win. Beebe pitched the last three innings and gave up a run on two hits for her third save.

Arcayena put the Continentals up 1-0 in the bottom of the first with an RBI single to right that scored Tansky. Quinn led off the second inning with a double and later scored on a single to center by Beebe. Beebe eventually scored on an RBI groundout by
Shelby McVey '22. Hamilton extended its lead to four runs in the third. Smith cracked a two-out double to right center, stole third and scored on Quinn's single up the middle.

After Utica pulled within 4-2, the Continentals restored their four-run lead in the fifth inning. Priante led off with a single and Smith doubled. Beebe's hit through the right side ended up rolling all the way to the wall and scored both runners.

Hamilton added two insurance runs in the sixth. Arcayena hit a one-out double and scored on a single by Heftved. Smith's bunt single plated Heftved with the last run.

Game 2
Â
The Continentals opened with a four-run first inning and, after the Pioneers tied the score in the top of the third, took the lead for good with a run in the bottom of the inning and two more in the fourth. Hamilton left just three runners on base. Utica scored a run in the second, three in the third and two in the sixth.

McVey and Quinn led the offense with two hits apiece and both hit a double. Beebe (11-4) pitched the last four innings and collected her 11
th win. She allowed two runs on four hits and struck out five. Beebe has a 2.02 earned run average.

In the first McVey drove in Tansky with a double, Arcayena singled in McVey, and Priante and Smith hit sacrifice flies. McVey led off the third with a single to right and eventually came around on a single by Heftved as the Continentals took the lead for good at 5-4.

Quinn's double to right center led off the fourth and
Madison Hinojos '24 walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch and Beebe drove in Quinn with a single to left field. Hinojos scored the seventh run when Tansky grounded into a fielder's choice.

The Pioneers left the bases loaded in the top of the sixth and Beebe retired the side in order in the seventh.
