Hamilton College pitchers allowed just five runs but the Continentals were swept by St. Olaf College in a non-conference doubleheader at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Fla., on Friday.
Â
St. Olaf (4-2 overall), which is a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, edged Hamilton 2-1 in Game 1 and won 3-1 in Game 2 on the strength of a three-run homer by Joey Glampe. Neither team committed an error in the two games.
Â
The Continentals went 7-5 in Florida with four of the losses by two runs or less. Hamilton comes back to New York with an overall record of 8-7. The Continentals are scheduled to host St. Lawrence University for a non-conference game on Tuesday, March 29 at 4 p.m. The teams split a doubleheader in Florida on March 17.

Greg Kopp '25 singled twice and
Ethan Harrast '23 and
Jackson Sattinger '24 doubled. Kopp is hitting .433 (13-for-30) and hasn't committed an error in 69 chances. Harrast leads the team with seven doubles.
Â

Â
The Continentals scored their run in the top of the first inning. Bernstein led off with a single through the left side and stole second and third base with one out. Kopp's infield single off the pitcher with two outs plated Bernstein. The Oles tied the score on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded in the second. They scored the go-ahead run in the fifth when a runner on second came all the way around while another runner on first was caught in a rundown.
Â
Hamilton had its chances to tie the score in the last two innings. The Continentals stranded runners at second and third in the sixth inning, and Harrast was left on second base after a leadoff double in the seventh.
Â
Game 2
Â
Matt Kinne '25 paced the Hamilton offense with two hits. Kinne is hitting .394 (13-for-33) with four doubles.
Â
Henry Tyler '25 and
Preston Perez '22 combined to pitch 3.1 no-hit innings of relief. Perez hasn't allowed an earned run and has fanned 16 batters in 8.1 innings.
Â
Bernstein led off the bottom of the first with a double and went to third on a sacrifice bunt by Harrast. Kinne's two-out double easily scored Bernstein. Glampe put the Oles in front with his three-run homer in the third inning. All four St. Olaf hits went for extra bases.
Â
The Continentals had chances to rally in the late innings.
Charlie O'Brien '24 led off the fifth with a double and went to third on a fly ball to right for the first out of the inning, but was left there. Kopp had a pinch-hit single with one out in the seventh but was erased at second on a fielder's choice, and the next batter popped up for the final out.
