No. 13 women's lacrosse scores 11 straight in win at Dickinson

Undefeated Continentals led 10-1 after one quarter and set up Thursday showdown with No. 9 Colby

Hamilton College's Julia Fornasar '24 scored a career-high four goals and the Continentals cruised to a 19-8 non-conference win against the Dickinson College Red Devils at Dickinson's Biddle Field on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Nationally ranked No. 13 Hamilton remained undefeated at 5-0. The Continentals ran off 11 straight goals in the first half and led by no fewer than seven goals for most of the second half. Hamilton has a neutral site NESCAC showdown with No. 9 Colby College on Thursday, March 24 at Tierney Field in Glencoe, Md., at 2 p.m.
 
The Red Devils (1-4 overall) scored five straight goals in the last four minutes of the second quarter and pulled within 12-6 at the break. Gabby Guadalupe paced the Dickinson offense with three goals and Riley Kuehn and Alex Goles picked up two assists apiece. Izzy Hall caused two turnovers, Liz Barroll won four draw controls and Ella Marks made seven saves in the last three quarters.
 
The 19 goals for the Continentals are the most they have scored since a 19-9 victory at Connecticut College on April 13, 2019. Hamilton led the Red Devils 10-1 after one quarter and 14-7 at the end of three.
 
Olivia Seymour '22 posted a career-best five points on two goals and three assists for the Continentals. Aine Cleary '25 scored three goals and Clarissa Hurley '23 and Alana King '24 chipped in two goals and a helper apiece. Abby Smith '24 notched a pair of goals and scooped up three ground balls.
 
Meghan Lane '24 captured 11 draw controls, caused two turnovers and scored her first collegiate goal. King and Cleary caused two turnovers apiece and Seymour won four draws. Maeve Luparello '23 stopped two shots in the first quarter. Maggie Reville '22, Kaitlin Reed '24 and Casey Fiore '24 needed to make just one save combined over the final 45 minutes.
 
Cleary broke a 1-1 tie with her first goal of the afternoon with 9:52 left in the first quarter. After Hurley scored for Hamilton with 9:02 remaining in the second quarter, the Continentals held a commanding 12-1 lead. Hamilton finished with four consecutive goals during the last seven minutes of the fourth quarter as Seymour assisted on two of them.
 
The Continentals held a 36-15 shot advantage, committed just 10 turnovers and were successful on all 15 clear attempts. Hamilton owned a 15-14 edge in draw controls.
 
Eva Abel '22 still leads the team with 10 goals, but Seymour tops the Continentals with seven assists and 16 points. Lane has 14 ground balls and 26 draws, and King has eight caused turnovers.
