The Hamilton College Continentals improved their record to 9-1 this spring with wins against Colby College and Buffalo State College at Legends Way Ballfields in Clermont, Fla., on Sunday.

Hamilton scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and rallied from a 5-1 deficit in an 8-6 victory against Colby in the morning. The Continentals scored the first eight runs against Buffalo State and cruised to an 11-5 triumph against the Bengals in the afternoon.

Hamilton wraps up its Florida trip with games against nationally ranked No. 10 Tufts University and Augustana College on Monday, March 21 back at Legends Way. The first pitch of the opener is at 9 a.m.

Kiana Arcayena '22 and
Samantha Smith '23 collected two hits apiece for the Continentals as they took advantage of three errors by the Mules.
Natalie Beebe '24 allowed one run on five hits and struck out three batters in three innings of relief as she improved to 5-0 on the season.

Hamilton trailed 5-1 going into the bottom of the fifth, but took the lead with seven runs on six hits, two errors and a hit batter. Arcayena led off with a single but was quickly erased on a fielder's choice. Smith followed with a base hit and advanced to second on the throw while
Emma Tomlins '23 moved to third.
Shelby McVey '22 drove both of them in with a single up the middle that made it 5-3.

Alessandra Priante '24 was hit by a pitch and
Katlynn McGivney '23 loaded the bases on an infield single. Beebe reached first on an infield error that scored two runs, and
Mikayla Worzel '23 reached on an outfield error that scored McGivney with the go-ahead run.
Ella Heftved '25 made it 7-5 with a single up the middle that plated Beebe, and Arcayena's single through the left side drove in Worzel with the seventh and final run of the inning.

In the sixth Colby loaded the bases with two outs on three singles, but Beebe ended the inning with a strikeout. Beebe gave up a solo homer with one out in the seventh and the next batter reached on an infield error, but the next two hitters popped up In foul ground to the catcher and popped up to second base to end the game.

Eight of the Continentals' 13 hits went for extra bases and Hamilton scored in five of the seven innings. McGivney singled twice, tripled and drove in two runs. Arcayena doubled twice and had three runs batted in, McVey posted two hits including a double, and Priante tripled and plated three runs. Worzel drew four of the Continentals' six walks.

Beebe started in the circle and improved to 6-0. She allowed one earned run on seven hits and struck out five in four innings.

Hamilton scored three runs with two outs in the top of the second inning. Worzel led off with a walk and Smith was hit by a pitch. Priante drove in both runners with a triple to left field and scored on McGivney's single up the middle.

The Continentals added another two-out run in the third. McVey led off with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and went to third on a groundout. A single through the left side by
Charlie Quinn '25 scored McVey and made it 4-0.

Hamilton broke the game open with four runs in the fourth.
Madison Hinojos '24 reached first on an outfield error and scored on a triple by McGivney. Heftved's ground-ball out drove in McGivney for a 6-0 lead. McVey cracked a double to left with the bases empty and scored on a double to center by Arcayena, who eventually came home on two wild pitches. Arcayena's two-run double to right in the seventh put the Continentals up 11-4.
