Men's squash opens national team championships with two wins

Continentals face Hobart and Colby on Saturday for the Conroy Cup

The Hamilton College Continentals won two matches on Friday in the 2022 CSA National Collegiate Men's Team Championships at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia.
 
Hamilton (7-10 overall), which is 28th in the College Squash Association National Team Rankings, will play Hobart College at the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 9 a.m. The Continentals will then take on Colby College at Specter US Squash Center at 2:30 p.m. Both matches are part of the Conroy Cup 1-3 Playoff.
 
Hamilton defeated No. 29 Wesleyan (5-8) for the third time this season, 6-3, in the afternoon. The Continentals breezed past Fordham University 9-0 in the early evening as the Rams dropped to 9-13.
 
Tate Suratt '24 and Waleed Nisar '24 didn't lose a game in two matches at the top of the ladder. Nicholas Carabatsos '24 won both of his matches at the fifth position.
 
Tate Burgin '25, Tripp Peters '23 and Blake Davis '25 dominated the bottom of the ladder as they only lost one game between them. Burgin moved over .500 at 9-8 and Davis has a team-best record of 10-5.
 
Ashby Howard '25, Rufus Somerby '22 and Oliver Constable '23 won their matches against Fordham as well. Constable won the 20th match of his career with a convincing three-game victory at the ninth position.
