Hamilton College swimmers finished first in three events but the Continentals lost to Division I Colgate University in a dual meet at Colgate's Lineberry Natatorium on Friday night.

Hamilton had previously defeated Trinity College and Colby College in dual meets and finished second out of 10 teams in the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. The Continentals return to competition after the holidays at Wesleyan University on Jan. 4, 2023, at 4 p.m.

Hamilton ended the meet on a high note with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of
Jade Matthias '26, Ashlyn Blessey '26, Emma DiGiacomo '25 and
Sam Karlson '23 posted a time of 1:38.51, and Karlson recorded a split of 23.80 seconds.

Karlson also captured first place in the 100 free with a time of 52.88 seconds. Matthias took the top spot in the 50 free in 24.75 seconds and was runner-up in the 100 backstroke (1:00.20).

Charlotte Moulson '26 grabbed second place in the 200 free (1:59.56) and the 500 free (5:19.51).
Irene Keh '24 finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.09) and the 200 breast (2:34.86).

Emma Robinson '26 was runner-up in the 1,000 free (10:53.29) and fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:16.95).
Ashley Kolpan '24 posted a runner-up finish in the 200 butterfly (2:14.18), and
Caroline Shen '24 finished fourth in the 100 back (1:01.50).

Maggie Nye '24 was third in the one-meter springboard event with 171.98 points.
