The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Colby College and Trinity College in season-opening dual meets at the Trinity Natatorium on Sunday afternoon.

Hamilton swimmers finished first in six events including the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:38.99, which was more than four seconds faster than the runner-up.
Jade Matthias '26, Ashlyn Blessey '26, Charlotte Moulson '26 and
Sam Karlson '23 were the members of the winning relay. Karlson's split time was 51.97 seconds as she turned a close race into a rout.

Matthias stole the show in her first collegiate meet as she set pool records in the 50 and 100 backstroke events. Her time in the 50 back was 27.63 seconds and she touched the wall in 59.12 seconds in the 100.

Emma Robinson '26 had an impressive debut as well. Robinson captured first place in the 500 free (5:23.79) and the 1,000 free (10:56.87), which she won by 32 seconds. She also took second place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.23).

Karlson owned the other victory in the 100 free with a time of 53 seconds flat, and was runner-up in the 50 free in 24.53 seconds. Moulson landed in second place in the 200 free (2:01.80) and the 500 free (5:28.18).

Holly Woodhouse '26 was runner-up in the 200 individual medley (2:14.77), tied for third in the 50 breaststroke in 32.36 seconds and was fourth in the 100 breast (1:10.93).
Irene Keh '24 edged Woodhouse for third in the 100 breast (1:10.91) and was third in the 200 IM (2:17.30).

Katt Withers '25 finished third in the 50 fly in 27.53 seconds and the 100 fly (1:02.17).
Caroline Shen '24 ended up fourth in the 100 back (1:02.25).
Natalie Peng '26 gave the Continentals three swimmers in the top four of the 200 IM as she was fourth (2:17.54).
Lucy Meola '26 was fifth in the 1-meter dive with 146.35 points.

Hamilton competes in the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational from Friday, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 4.
