Dillon ’24 scored her fifth goal this season and second in as many games for the Continentals

Middlebury College's Katie George scored two goals and the nationally ranked No. 2 Panthers posted a 5-1 win over the No. 17 Hamilton College Continentals in a 2022 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship quarterfinal at Middlebury's Kohn Field on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

  • After a scoreless second quarter, the Panthers struck 1:59 into the third on a goal by Amy Griffin that was assisted by Grace Murphy.
  • Just 22 seconds later, Hamilton cut Middlebury's lead in half after the Continentals earned a penalty corner. Camille Donaghey '23 inserted the ball to Kiera Wax '23, who stopped it for Hannah Dillon '24 for Dillon's blast from the edge of the circle.
  • The Panthers added two more in the third on goals by Caroline Segal and Lilly Branka.
  • George secured Middlebury's last goal less than five minutes into the fourth quarter on a pass from Sadie LeStage.
