NESCAC field hockey championship quarterfinal preview

No. 8 seed Continentals travel to Middlebury to play the top-seeded Panthers on Oct. 29

The Hamilton College Continentals will travel to Middlebury, Vt., to play the Middlebury College Panthers in a 2022 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Field Hockey Championship quarterfinal at Middlebury's Kohn Field on Saturday, Oct. 29 at noon.

Nationally ranked No. 17 Hamilton is 8-6 overall with one non-conference regular season game remaining at William Smith College on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. The Continentals finished in eighth place and are the No. 8 seed for the championship with a 4-6 NESCAC record. Hamilton is aiming to reach the semifinals for the third time (2016, 2019).

The No. 2-ranked Panthers are 14-1 overall and ended up 9-1 in the conference. Middlebury finished in first place in the NESCAC standings and is the top seed for the championship. The Panthers edged the Continentals 2-1 at Hamilton back on Sept. 17.
