The Williams College Ephs pulled away in the second half against the Hamilton College Continentals for a 61-45 NESCAC win at Williams' Chandler Gym on Friday night.

Hamilton dropped to 6-5 overall in its 2021-22 conference debut. The Continentals travel to Middlebury College for another NESCAC contest on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 3 p.m.

The nationally ranked No. 17 Ephs are still undefeated at 10-0, and they were also playing their first conference game this season. Williams held Hamilton to 20 percent shooting and 16 points in the final 20 minutes.
Hank Morgan '25 led the Continentals in scoring with 13 points and
Teja Singh '25 added 11 off the bench. Morgan and
Conner Rood '23 swiped three steals each, and
Patrick Mogan '23 added six rebounds and three blocked shots. Hamilton shot 30.4 percent from the field including 4 of 24 from 3-point range.

Declan Porter led the Ephs with 14 points, Cole Prowitt-Smith dropped in 12 and Spencer Spivy scored nine. Prowitt-Smith grabbed nine boards and Nate Karren handed out six assists. Williams was efficient at the free-throw line as they went 13-for-17, thanks in part to Prowitt-Smith making all five of his attempts. Porter was 4 of 5 from 3-point range. The Ephs held a 26-6 advantage in points in the paint.Â

The score was tied 29-29 at the half, but the Ephs came out strong after the break and jumped out to a 44-31 lead with 10:06 remaining. Williams' 15-2 run was fueled by six layups as the Ephs effectively got into the paint. The Continentals didn't get closer than nine points the rest of the way. Williams' largest lead of 20 points came at the 1:59 mark when they went up 60-40 after a 3-point play by Spivy.
