Hamilton College's
Sam Karlson '23 captured first place in the women's 100-yard freestyle and posted three finishes in the top three in a three-way meet against Williams College and Middlebury College at Williams' Samuelson-Muir Pool on Saturday afternoon.
The Continentals' dual meet record is now 3-6 after they dropped a 192-97 decision against the nationally ranked No. 10 Ephs, and were dealt a 179-119 setback by Middlebury. Hamilton competes against Division I Colgate University in its last home meet at Bristol Pool this season on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m.
Karlson's winning time in the 100 free was 54.49 seconds. She also was runner-up in the 50 free with a time of 25.34 seconds and ended up third in the 200 free (2:00.01).
Madison Goodman-Leong '25 finished right behind Karlson in the 200 free in 2:00.04.
Irene Keh '24 landed in third place in the 200 individual medley (2:15.11), and
Caroline Shen '24 was third in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.64 seconds.
Lucy Hamann '22 took fourth place in the 100 backstroke (1:01.47),
Meredith Gioia '22 grabbed fifth place in the 100 butterfly (1:01.48) and
Marissa Duffy '25 was fifth in the 500 free (5:29.20).
In diving
Maggie Nye '24 finished third in the 1-meter springboard with 163.88 points and was fourth in the 3-meter board with 157.13 points.
