Hamilton College's
Andrew Harrell '23 finished first in the men's 5,000-meter run at the 2022 Utica College Track & Field Winter Opener on Saturday.

The Continentals, with 50 points, finished in fifth place out of 15 teams that scored at the Hutton Sports & Recreation Center. SUNY Cortland captured the team title with 137 points.

Harrell posted a time of 15:07.37 and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships.
Nick Lyon '22 ended up ninth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:37.42.

Hamilton captured first place in the 4x200-meter relay with a winning time of 1:35.49.
Josh Harmsen '23, Corey Jones '23, Peter Cuomo '24 and
Michael Ngaw '25 were the members of that triumphant relay.

Harmsen qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash and finished fifth. He posted a time of 7.23 seconds in the preliminary heats.
Saleh Eltayeb '24 also qualified for the final with a time of 7.27 seconds.

Bram Mansbach '24 qualified for the AARTFC championships and ended up sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:48.81.
Benjamin Ingram '25 was sixth in the 1,000-meter run (2:45.09) and
Rasikh Shaukat '25 landed in seventh place in the 500-meter dash (1:13.32).

George Brady '23 finished 12
th out of 64 runners in the mile run (4:27.61), and
James Gallagher '24 was less than a second behind in 13
th place (4:27.94).

Eltayeb grabbed third place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.19 meters and Cuomo was fourth with a distance of 12.38 meters.
Ben Jakubczak '23 took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 6.21 meters.

The Continentals are scheduled to host their own Hamilton Invitational at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Friday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m.
