Men's basketball opens five-game homestand with loss to Ithaca

Teja Singh '25 and Hank Morgan '25 score 14 apiece for Continentals

Ithaca College went on a 16-2 run early in the first half and the Bombers posted an 81-63 non-conference win against the Hamilton College Continentals at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Tuesday afternoon.

The Continentals (6-7 overall) shot 31.9 percent from the field. Hamilton continues its five-game homestand against NESCAC foe Tufts University on Friday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

Ithaca (6-4), which is a member of the Liberty League, held a 54-39 advantage on the glass. The Bombers scored 19 second-chance points and recorded 34 in the paint.

Teja Singh '25 paced the Continentals with 14 points, four assists and three steals. Hank Morgan '25 dropped in 14 points and Eric Anderson '22 added 13. Anderson was 3 of 4 from 3-point range and is shooting 50.9 percent (27-53) from beyond the arc. Nick Osarenren '22 grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots. Elliott Tirbaso '22 contributed seven points, six boards and four assists.

Luka Radovich led Ithaca with 16 points in just 18 minutes. Jack Stern posted a double-double off the bench with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Skylar Sinon registered 10 points and five steals. George Sikoryak III made all four of his field goal attempts and both free throws as he finished with 10 points and four assists. The Bombers made 21 free throws while Hamilton attempted 11.

The Continentals led 4-2 on two free throws by Morgan and a layup by Anderson, but Ithaca's 16-2 spurt put the Bombers in the lead for good. Radovich scored eight of those 16 points, including a 3-pointer that made it 16-6 about seven minutes into the first half.

Ithaca led by as many as 14 points in the opening 20 minutes before Hamilton closed its deficit to seven at 36-29 on a jumper in the paint by Morgan with 2:35 left. The Bombers then scored the last five points of the first half and added the first six points of the second half for a 47-29 advantage with 18:23 remaining. Ithaca was 7 of 15 from long distance in the first half.

The Bombers led by double digits the entire second half. Ithaca took its largest lead of 23 points at 66-43 with 11:10 to go.
