The Hamilton College Continentals recorded their fourth consecutive win after sweeping the SUNY Polytechnic Wildcats in three sets on Tuesday evening at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.
The set scores were 25-18, 25-13 and 25-9. The Continentals (5-1 overall) posted a team hitting percentage of .203 with 35 kills while the Wildcats (1-6 overall) posted a -.110 hitting percentage with 10 kills and 18 attack errors.
Hamilton recorded 15 service aces, 34 assists and 41 digs.
Summer McClintic '24 led the team with 10 kills,
Kate Carman '24 had eight and
Chiara Morley-McLaughlin '24 had six.
Hanna Cillo '24 served four aces while
Melissa Morelli '24 recorded 24 assists, 11 digs and three service aces.
Cece Nourie '25 was credited with 10 digs and six assists.
The Wildcats only led three times during the entire match. In the first set they scored the first point off an attack error and also led 3-2. SUNY Poly came within a point at 11-10 but the Continentals finished with a 10-5 advantage for the seven-point win.
In the second set SUNY Poly took a 1-0 lead again but Hamilton went on a seven-point run. The Wildcats came within 16-10 and the Continentals responded with an eight-point spree and eventually took the set by a 12-point margin.
SUNY Poly tied the score early in the third set twice before Hamilton went on another eight-point run for a 15-5 advantage. The Continentals finished the set and the match with five more points in a row.
Hamilton heads to Williamstown, Mass., on Friday, Sept. 24 to play Williams College in a NESCAC match at 7 p.m.
