The Hamilton College Continentals will travel to Brunswick, Maine, to take on Bowdoin College in a 2021 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Volleyball Championship quarterfinal on Friday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m.
Hamilton is 7-12 overall and is the championship's No. 8 seed after it tied for seventh place in the conference standings with a 3-7 record. The Continentals are in this event for the third time in five years and are going for their first win in six tries.
Bowdoin is 19-4 overall and 9-1 in the NESCAC as the Polar Bears finished first in the conference standings and are the top seed for the championship. Bowdoin received votes in the most recent Division III Top 25 coaches poll and is ranked third in the region by the NCAA. The Polar Bears defeated Hamilton in three straight sets back on Oct. 2 in Clinton, N.Y.
The winner of Friday's match will advance to the championship semifinals, which are held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at Bowdoin. The Polar Bears have the honor of hosting the entire event as the top seed. The final is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 7 at noon.
