Field hockey plays at Tufts in NESCAC Championship quarterfinals

No. 15 Continentals take three-game win streak into postseason

The Hamilton College Continentals will travel to Tufts University's Ounjian Field for a 2021 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Field Hockey Championship quarterfinal against the Jumbos in Medford, Mass., on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Nationally ranked No. 15 Hamilton is 10-5 overall and is the championship's No. 7 seed after it finished in seventh place in the conference standings with a 5-5 record. The Continentals aim to return to the semifinals for the third time since 2011 (advanced in 2016 and 2019).

Tufts is 12-3 overall and 8-2 in the NESCAC as the Jumbos finished second in the conference standings and are the No. 2 seed for the championship. Tufts is ranked third in this week's Division III Top 20 coaches poll and is ranked second in the region by the NCAA. The Jumbos defeated Hamilton 4-0 at home back on Oct. 3.

The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the championship semifinals, which are held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the highest remaining seed. Middlebury College is the top seed and would host next Saturday if the Panthers win their quarterfinal.
