Women's soccer hosts NESCAC championship quarters for first time

19th-ranked Continentals play Tufts this Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The Hamilton College Continentals will host Tufts University in a 2021 New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship quarterfinal at Love Field on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 12:30 p.m.

Nationally ranked No. 19 Hamilton (11-1-2, 7-1-2 NESCAC) is hosting a conference postseason event for the first time since the Continentals joined the NESCAC for women's soccer in 2011.

Hamilton is the championship's No. 3 seed after it finished third in the conference standings with 23 points (three points for a win, one for a tie). The Continentals shut out then-No. 13 Tufts 1-0 in Medford, Mass., back on Oct. 3.

The Jumbos are 8-6-0 overall and ended up 5-5 in the NESCAC. Tufts is the championship's No. 6 seed after it finished sixth in the conference standings with 15 points. The Jumbos have won three straight matches as they enter postseason play.

The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the championship semifinals, which are held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the highest remaining seed. Amherst College is the top seed and would host next Saturday if the Mammoths win their quarterfinal.
