The Hamilton College Continentals posted a 5-4 win over the Connecticut College Camels in the consolation round of the 2020 NESCAC Women's Squash Championship at Wesleyan University's Rosenbaum Squash Center on Saturday afternoon.
Hamilton (8-9 overall) is the ninth seed for the championship while Conn. College is the 10th seed. The Continentals also edged the Camels 5-4 in Connecticut on Jan. 17.
Madison Sakheim '22 was the difference as she outlasted her opponent in five games at the fourth position for her 23rd career win. Hope Worcester '23 picked up her fifth victory after she gave up just 12 points in a three-game sweep at the first position.
Sydney Soloway '22 (fifth position), Liesl Guenther '21 (sixth) and Eleanor Struthers '22 (seventh) went 2-0 at the championship during the weekend. Soloway is 9-8 this season thanks to her three-game triumph. Guenther ran her record to 10-4 with 28 career wins as she prevailed in four games. Struthers leads the team with 12 victories after a three-game sweep.
Hamilton's next match is in the 2020 College Squash Association National Team Championships hosted by Yale University on Friday, Feb. 21.
