The Hamilton College Continentals defeated Connecticut College and Fordham University on the road on Jan. 17 and 18.
Hamilton (3-5 overall) has won three straight matches after opening the season with five consecutive losses. The Continentals edged Conn. College 5-4 on Friday afternoon and cruised to a 9-0 victory at Fordham on Saturday morning. Hamilton is 28th in the College Squash Association Team Rankings while Conn. College is 23rd and Fordham is 40th.
Katie Hodulik '23 won the deciding match against the Camels as she dropped the first game but won the next three at the second position. Hodulik dropped six points in sweeping her Fordham opponent and her teammates all won in three games as well.
Madison Sakheim '22 came out on the winning end of the most dramatic match of the day in Connecticut. Sakheim lost the first two games at the fifth position but came all the way back and ended the match with an 11-6 decision in the fifth. She had a much easier time in her three-game triumph at Fordham the next day.
Hope Worcester '23 and Natalie Harrity '23 defeated their Conn. College and Fordham opponents in three games at the first and third positions, respectively. Eleanor Struthers '22 was a winner in four games at the seventh position on Friday and surrendered just five points in her victory on Saturday.
Sydney Soloway '22 (fourth position), Liesl Guenther '21 (sixth), Daisy Sulavik '22 (eighth) and Ellie Arnold '22 (ninth) rounded out the Continentals' lineup on Saturday.
Hamilton plays three matches in western Massachusetts on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 25 and 26.
