Six Hamilton College players scored a goal and the Continentals defeated the Bates College Bobcats 6-1 in a NESCAC game at Hamilton's Love Field on Saturday.

Hamilton (1-1-0, 1-1 NESCAC) held a 4-0 lead at the break on first half goals by Cat Gambino '21, Kayleigh Harris '20, Hyla Mosher '23 and Mackenzie Christensen '22. Alex Fontana '20 and Bella Roselli '22 added the fifth and sixth goals in the second half.

Five of Hamilton's six goals had assists. Kristin Hughes '20 served up a career-high two helpers with additional assists coming from Ashlyn Gaulin '23, Emma Gaulin '23 and Frankie Lilly '23.

Bates (1-1-0, 0-1) was playing its first NESCAC game of the season. Junior goalkeeper Katherine Nuckols made a career-high 12 saves as Hamilton held a 30-4 shot advantage and 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Rachel Pike '21 recorded two saves for the Continentals.

Gambino opened the scoring exactly 12 minutes into the first half when Rylie Mutton '23 controlled the ball in the middle of Bates' end and passed back to Hughes along the right sideline. Hughes launched a cross to the penalty hash where Gambino one-touched the bouncing ball and buried it into the lower-right corner.

Less than three minutes later, Hughes stole the ball away from Bates along the right sideline. She dribbled towards the top corner of the penalty box, chipped the ball to the hashmark and a charging Harris clanged the ball off the right post and into the goal at 14:57.

Mosher netted her second goal in as many games during the 31st minute for a 3-0 lead. Roselli intercepted a Bates pass in the middle of the field and passed ahead to Ashlyn Gaulin. Gaulin turned and passed between the defenders, allowing Mosher to use her speed for a breakaway goal into the lower-left corner.

Christensen notched her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute. Emma Gaulin handled the ball on the left side of the offensive zone and passed to Christensen in the middle. Christensen rocketed a shot from 30 yards out that rolled off the goalkeeper's fingertips and into the upper-left corner of the net.

Hamilton made it a 5-0 lead 5:50 into the second half after Fontana drew a foul inside the box. The senior captain finished the job as she connected her penalty kick into the lower-right corner of the goal.

The Bobcats got on the scoreboard at 59:04. Sarah DiPillo dribbled the ball out of the right corner and passed to Riley Turcotte at the top of the box for a one-timer past an outstretched Pike.

With 2:48 remaining, Roselli netted her first goal wearing a Buff & Blue uniform. Lilly stole the ball away in Hamilton's end and raced up the left sideline. Lilly fed the ball to Roselli in the middle of the field and Roselli launched a shot from 25 years out into the upper 90.

Hamilton is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 10 for a non-conference game against SUNY Oswego at 4 p.m. on Love Field.
