Men's soccer battles to a scoreless double overtime tie at Bowdoin

Box Score

The Hamilton College Continentals fought to a 0-0 NESCAC draw with the Bowdoin College Polar Bears at Bowdoin's Pickard Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Continentals' (3-5-1, 1-3-1 NESCAC) best scoring chances in overtime came off the feet of Aidan Wood '20 and Jefri Schmidt '20. Three minutes into the first extra period, Wood charged into the box for a shot but Michael Webber (6 saves) denied the attempt. Schmidt notched the only shot by either team in the second overtime, winding up for a blast on goal but Webber made his final save.

The Polar Bears (5-1-4, 1-1-4) had a chance to break the stalemate in the final minute of the first half off a corner kick but Hamilton's defense cleared the ball out of danger. A minute after Wood's threat in overtime, Thomas Benson '22 (5 saves) turned away a shot attempt by Bowdoin's Harry Cooper.

Hamilton makes the short trip to Marcy on Tuesday, Oct. 8 for a non-conference game against SUNY Polytechnic.
