Hamilton College's Cat Donahue '21 and Michaela Giuttari '20 tallied one goal and one assist apiece and the Continentals posted a 3-2 NESCAC win over the Wesleyan University Cardinals at Hamilton's Goodfriend Field on Saturday afternoon.

Donahue netted the eventual game winner off a penalty corner with 5:35 remaining in the second quarter and gave Hamilton a 3-1 lead at the half. Sarah Pierpont '21 inserted the ball from the left side to Donahue who ripped a shot into the lower-left corner. Hamilton has won five straight meetings with Wesleyan.

The Continentals (5-7, 3-6 NESCAC) took a 1-0 lead 7:20 into the first quarter. Maura Holden '23 took the penalty corner and found Donahue at the top of the arc. Donahue golfed a shot towards the cage and Giuttari redirected the ball past the outstretched leg of Delaney Wood (6 saves). Wood tops the NESCAC with 106 saves and an .815 save percentage.

Maddie Beitler '21 doubled Hamilton's lead with her team-leading eighth goal 6:37 into the second quarter. Giuttari worked the ball through the defenders and into the arc on the left side. Beitler raced along the end line, snuck behind the defenders and tipped Giuttari's pass up and over Wood's shoulder. Beitler is in a seven-way tie for the third-most goals in the conference.

Wesleyan (5-8, 1-7) cut its deficit in half just 19 seconds later. Nikki Gerjarusak stole the ball away at midfield, raced into Hamilton's defensive arc and snuck the ball past Maggie Reville '22 (9 saves). Reville's 101 saves rank her second in the NESCAC and she is fifth with an .802 save percentage.

The Cardinals' Diana Schwarz concluded the scoring with 12:54 to go in the third quarter. Grace Kohn took the reset from outside the arc and sent a centering pass to Schwarz who deked around a defender and lifted the ball into the opposite corner of the cage.

Hamilton hosts local rival Utica College on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for a non-conference game at 5:30 p.m.
