Box Score The Hamilton College Continentals dominated the action but the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons emerged with the 2-0 win in a non-conference men's hockey game played at Cortland's Alumni Arena on Monday afternoon.
Hamilton (8-7-1 overall) held a commanding 45-19 advantage in shots and finished 0-for-6 on the power play.
Cortland (8-10) scored once in the first period and once in the second. Nick Modica made 45 saves for the shutout.
Tom Ritchie gave the home team the lead 12:41 into the first period. The Red Dragons denied a breakout attempt by Hamilton, Oliver Lester fed the puck across the slot and Ritchie wristed the puck underneath the right leg of Sean Storr '22 (17 saves), who was making his second collegiate start in net.
The Red Dragons doubled their lead with 2:03 remaining in the second. Storr turned away a shot from the point by Logan Blaser but Scott Docherty was there to tuck in the rebound.
Hamilton returns to NESCAC action at Russell Sage Rink on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. when No. 7/9 Trinity College arrives. The Continentals and Bantams battled to a 2-2 draw earlier this season in Hartford, Conn.
