Hamilton College's Lizzie Clarke '20 scored three goals and the nationally ranked No. 14 Continentals posted a 4-0 NESCAC win against the Connecticut College Camels at Hamilton's Goodfriend Field on Saturday afternoon.

Clarke tallied her first three goals this year and the hat trick was her first for the Continentals. Hamilton has won four of its last five games against Connecticut College, and the Continentals have outscored the Camels 11-1 the last three times the teams have met in Clinton.

Hamilton dominated the first 35 minutes as the Continentals enjoyed an 11-0 shot advantage and were awarded five penalty corners to none for Connecticut College. Hamilton took a 3-0 lead into the halftime break.

Michaela Giuttari '20 chipped in a goal and an assist and Tatiana Bradley '19 picked up two helpers. Giuttari is tied for the NESCAC lead with nine goals and tops the conference outright with 20 points. Bradley leads the Continentals with four assists and is second to Giuttari with 12 points. Julia Booth '19 made all five of her saves in the second half for her first shutout this season and the eighth of her Hamilton career.

Andi McGraw started in goal for the Camels and made two stops. Jackie Mountford relieved McGraw at the start of the second half and turned away four shots the rest of the way.

The Continentals grabbed a 1-0 lead just 3:17 into the first half on their first penalty corner of the afternoon. Bradley inserted the ball to Giuttari and she stopped it and pushed it ahead to Clarke for her blast from just inside the circle.

Sarah Stinebaugh '19 nearly gave Hamilton a two-goal advantage with 12:39 left in the half but her shot rang off the left post after a series of nifty passes inside the circle. Giuttari provided that 2-0 lead with 9:17 remaining in the opening half. Keeley Duran '22 nearly lost the ball along the left sideline but recovered and carried the ball near the end line to the edge of the circle. She sent a bouncing pass to Giuttari and she controlled it, dribbled it once and scored with a backhanded shot into the right side of the cage. The assist was Duran's second.

Another penalty corner led to the Continentals' third goal of the half with 21 seconds to go. This time Bradley inserted the ball directly to Clarke, who tapped it once and unleashed a hard shot that sailed past McGraw on her left.

Clarke made it 4-0 with 19:25 left in the second half on a nice individual effort. After a Connecticut College turnover, she received a pass and carried the ball into the circle. She deked two defenders and hit a backhand shot that deflected off a leg of one of the Camel players. The ball came right back to Clarke and she scored into the left side of the cage from about 10 yards out.

Connecticut College's first quality scoring chance came with about 15 minutes remaining when Caroline Ferro hammered a shot from the edge of the right side of the circle that forced Booth to make a kick save. The Camels had some sustained pressure on Booth for about three minutes starting with 8:21 to go on a shot on goal by Jamie Navoni. Three more Connecticut College shots and two corners followed, but no goals for the Camels.

Hamilton makes the short trip to Utica College for a non-conference game on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. Connecticut College is back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. with a NESCAC home game against Colby.
