Men's soccer edged 1-0 by unbeaten No. 21/RV Conn. College

Box Score

Connecticut College's Liam Donelan scored in the 20th minute and the Camels held on for a 1-0 NESCAC win against the Continentals at Hamilton College's Love Field on Saturday afternoon.

Thomas Benson '22 made 10 saves in his first collegiate start for Hamilton (4-2, 2-1 NESCAC). Jeff Plump '20 and Aidan Wood '20 both had two shots on goal.

The nationally ranked No. 21/RV Camels' (6-0, 3-0) goal was off a corner taken by Christian Murphy. Murphy kicked the ball to the near side of the goal area and Donelan headed the ball into the opposite corner of the net.

Wood had a chance to tie the game just two minutes into the second half when Matt Jordan '22 cleared the ball out of Hamilton's zone to Wood at the midline. Wood was wide open until he got to the top of the Camels' box where he outmaneuvered two defenders for an open shot, but A.J. Marcucci (five saves) denied the attempt. Marcucci leads the NESCAC in save percentage (.958) and goals against average (0.18).

Hamilton hosts Middlebury College on Sunday, Sept. 23 for a NESCAC game at 1:30 p.m.
